On Queens Birthday Weekend, you'd find me in the Wairarapa. Being there also means driving back into Wellington.

Many Wellingtonian's get up early every day to commute from 'over the hill'.

While Matt and I normally only do this drive when we have had a weekend away, I'm always reminded of how tough and also rewarding it must be for the people that live in the Wairarapa and come to work in Wellington everyday. We are a Wellington region, not just a Wellington city.

Whether you live in the Hutt Valley, Martinborough or have just done this drive like we do, at the end of the long weekend, this video is an ode to those who make the journey to the city. Like a lover, coming back to Wellington and seeing the city beyond the motorway takes you home.
