I believe we need to change how we buy and use our clothes. Fast fashion is a serious problem that bloggers need to stand up and address. After watching the film, The True Cost, I decided I didn't want to support fast fashion brands like ASOS, BooHoo or similar on my blog.
While I have done work for TopShop, the experience made me question why I was motivated to do so. Was it the prestige? Was it the clothes (I actually did like TopShops clothes). It left me feeling a bit uncomfortable and I decided that it was the first and last time I would support a big, commercial fashion brand on The Residents. So I was thrilled to be able to talk about my philosophies on clothes, which have developed over the last few years, with someone who know sustainable fashion back to front - Bernadette Casey, Creative Director of Sustainable Textiles designer, The Formary (Timmy also joined in).
Have a watch of our chat and find out how I shop, what I keep and my favourite items in my closet. As you know, I am passionate about long-lasting clothes, ideally locally and sustainably made. I support New Zealand fashion and am trying to adopt a 'less-is-more' philosophy.
I was interviewed by Bernadette at my home!
