Ok. This is the first time I have ever done this but I need to tell you all RIGHT NOW about this.
At lunchtime today I stopped to buy some spray and wipe at New World Chaffers (oh, this thrilling blogger life I lead).
What should shine before my eyes, like an arch angel, but the holy grail of gluttons? A new product from our friends (and my thigh’s enemy) Lewis Road Creamery and Whittaker’s Chocolate called…wait for it…chocolate butter. I stopped in my tracks. Was this for real?
I turned to my boyfriend, Matt. “We need to get this” I said, staring him in the eyes in the fashion of one possessed. Matt knew about my butter addiction. It’s been a running joke in the family that I treat my butter like cheese: the more, the better. He knew better than to resist. Matt was sent to fetch buns.
At home, I pulled this golden beacon from the shopping bag as though it was indeed gold – precious, creamy and all for me. Matt got the knife and we spread it on the roll with abandon. “Oh my god” he cried. “OH. MY. GOD. This is like Nutella but waaaay better!”
One spread on the roll was not enough and we decided both sides of the bun needed the treatment.
Because of added sunflower oil you can spread the ‘butter’ straight from the pot. It has a deep cacao taste that fits the milky buttery taste like yin and yang.
This butter was exquisite and I highly recommend everyone goes and gets some.
As we are supposed to be on a healthy eating spree, Matt and I made a decision that I would bring the butter into work with me for my colleagues to try. “I can’t have this in the house,” Matt admitted, sadly “It’s just WAY too good.”
I brought it to work, good to my word. I just might just not have taken it out of my handbag…
