I’m the author of The Residents blog interviewing independent outside the box thinkers. Cult beauty. Slow fashion. Reflective writing. That’s my jam. I am also the founder of @soapforsociety.
I love my home town of Wellington and think it is one of the best places in the world to live (and the experts agree) - but I didn't always feel like that. I felt confused about my place in the world in my early twenties. It turned out that all I needed to do was do a bit of digging and unearth the stories of the city to totally change my perspective.
The Residents is a place to find out about and connect with people & experiences that Wellington awesome. While I started out just profiling people, I've expanded my offering to write about beauty, fashion, food, #milleniallife and film. I also take pride in recommending only the best products and experiences. Posts go up Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and occasionally Saturday. I also post weekly on the old YouTube. If you want even more extra bits, sign up for my newsletter 'The Lucy Letter', and to get in touch, you can tweet me. Elsewise, I'm usually lurking about Instagram somewhere.
Today, I live with my boyfriend, Matt, in a tiny tumbledown villa, overlooking the harbour. When I am not working as a policy advisor, I'm running around finding stories for this blog. This is the true story of a real twenty-something, living in New Zealand, and all the twists and bumps along the way. Who knows what adventure is next?!
